Calling all Amateur Photographers – Your Chance to win an additional grant for Musbury

Devon County Council would like to create a photographic record of what’s important to those who use and maintain rights of way.

They need your help to take photographs of what P3 (Parish Paths Partnership) really means to you.  You could consider the health benefits by  taking images of friends and family or members of your community out and about enjoying rights of way.  Photos from group walks, volunteers working on rights of way or community events that take place in your locality – all would be great ways of portraying the sense of wellbeing and friendship that is created through P3.

Other possibilities include images of horse riders, 4 x 4 vehicles, horse and carriages, motorbikes and cyclists who are legitimately using the  bridleways and UCRs.

You might like to add some text; it could be in the form of poetry, an extract from literature or simply words explaining what you were doing at the time of the photo or why you chose to take the particular subject.  Children can also enter, although there are no specific age groups or individual prizes.

Additional P3 grants will be offered to the parishes that submit the best pictures; first prize will be £300 and the two runners up will each receive £150.

A selection of pictures, writing and text together with the winner and runners up images will be displayed at the County show in May this year.   Please note if your subject contains images of children written consent from parents/carers will be required.  Follow the link to the relevant DCC webpage and download the form, sign and submit with your photograph.

Please send your photos in digital format to: parishpaths@devon.gov.uk  For full Terms and Conditions of Entry please follow the link to the P3 pages of the Devon County Council website: http://www.devon.gov.uk/index/environmentplanning/public_rights_of_way/parish_paths_partnership_scheme.htm
