A Tale of Two Freds

Musbury Garden Club’s new season opens with this illustrated talk by Carolyn Keep, vice-president and past chairman of the Devon Gardens Trust. The first Fred of her story is German-born Frederick William Meyer (1852-1906), a landscape gardener and park designer known to have worked for the plant nursery family, Robert Veitch & Son of Exeter. Fred number two is Fred Vigers, whose collection of lantern slides that had belonged to Meyer inspired Mrs Keep to research his life and work. This talk explores the detective work involved.
The talk will start as usual at 7.30pm.
