A strange love affair – one man’s passion for Poltimore House

The talk this evening covers the relationship of Rikky Apps with Poltimore House, a Grade 2* country house located just outside Exeter. Rikky, a retired quantity surveyor, keen photographer and heritage aficionado, has over 17,000 pictures of the house, the grounds and of events that have taken place there. “I have been lucky enough to photograph the house from every angle, including from above in a sky lift” he said, “and when you get to know an old building so intimately, you can’t help but fall in love with it.” He will be illustrating his talk with a few of his photographs and other pictures.

Rikky was one of the founding members of “The Friends of Poltimore House” set up in 2003 and has been on the committee ever since. He has served as chairman and is presently the membership secretary.

The talk will start as usual at 7.30 pm
