Simple Garden Design and a Look at How RHS Judges Judge

Monday 27th February 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Most successful gardens have an element of design to them. But you do not necessarily need to employ a garden designer to improve the look and management of your own space. In this evening talk expert Roger Platts will unlock some of the secrets of good garden design, simplifying the process and showing what can be achieved. If you’ve ever wondered how judges at the big flower shows decide one garden is better than an another he will also give an insight into the judging process at the Chelsea and other RHS Flower Shows.

Roger trained in horticulture and started his garden design business in 1989.He has created six gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show since 1995 and won five gold medals, a Best In Show in 2002 and People’s Choice in 2010. As one of the most respected and demanded plantsman and designer in the UK, Roger is a regular judge and moderator at Chelsea and the other RHS Shows. He has also been a mentor for BBC Gardeners World Live, and  was recently appointed to the RHS Gardens Committee as a Gardens Advisor for the RHS Garden Wisley.

The talk will start as usual at 7.30pm.
