Flowers on the Far Side of the World
Monday 18th January 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Local resident Dr Mike Lock, formerly at Kew’s Royal Botanic Gardens, is a seasoned traveller. Starting in Kamchatka, in the Russian Far East, his talk will take us on a journey through the Kamchtka Peninsula and then across to the American Aleutian Island chain, which almost connects Asia and America. Along the way we’ll see flowers, birds and whales, and learn some of the recent history of this remote region and its people. A must for the armchair traveller and anyone with an interest in flora and fauna.
The talk will start as usual at 7.30pm
NB Refreshments (included in entry) available from 7pm BEFORE the talk.
